    .don't blow me away!

    SOLANGE.S AlBUM ROCKSSSSSSS!!..enough said.

By far my favorite album of the year(running a close second to my baby Pharrell & N.E.R.D "Seeing Sounds"! I couldnt get to Hasting's fast enough on tuesday to cop it. & to my surpirse it was on sale for $7.99!! i got it for the cheap!..lol.. here are my take on different tracks.

    "God Given Name"
She couldn't have picked any better song to kick the cd off with. With the sultry yet soulful tunes, Solange makes it clear that she is Her own person and not "HER".(Bey) so give her some damn respect!

    "T.O.N.Y"
this is one of my fav songs. I know us ladies can relate to those nights that we wish some stuff didn't happen..yet.we steady back to the same stuff..and we actually miss T.O.N.Y (the.other.night.oh.why) Yet we grow up..and realize that its best to keep it moving'

    "Cosmic Journey ft.Bilal"
..words cant describe how much i love this song..the slow and mellow feel makes me feel sooo good...Almost as if you are on your own Cosmic Journey. Her and Bilal makes a amazing duo on this track. i love to sit back and jam this to a glass of wine..mmmm

    "SandCastle Disco"
I fell in love with this upbeat jam the first time i heard it. A very Creative song and a 2nd favorite of mine. Check out the Video!!

Revolutionary Fashion: You tell the story…

A few weeks ago, Andrea and I directed and styled a photo shoot infusing vintage styles with revolutionary art. Inspired by the lives of Diana Vreeland, Phyllis Hyman, and all other classically styled dames of the past the looks from the shoot showcase classic pieces styled in a present trend reminiscent of Carrie in Sex and the City. So what's the story?

    3001: A Fashionista's Artistry

Allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is HOV!.....GASP! Wait...sorry guys, I'm intermingling my crush for music with my very 1st blog entry! Soooo sowweeee!!! Ok, I'm Andrea, affectionately known as GLAMOUROTTI! Basically, I don't like to call Glamourotti a lifestyle....that's so cliche... I'd say it's the embodiment of one's being! Glamourotti views fashion not as pieces of clothing some people just throw on and put no thought into, but as ART! Please look forward to upcoming entries that will further relay this ideology. Now for your viewing pleasure....I'd like to share with you some of my credentials. Conde Nast Traveler Magazine was so kind to feature lil 'ol me in the June issue of their "Global Uniform" section. They named me as one of the most stylish individuals in Manhattan! But I live in Houston..that's even Mo' Maja! But ssshhhh!!! You don't tell...I won't! This feature is still so surreal to me! Shouts out to Lily Newhouse and Mark!

And yes...keep in mind and ponder..."No woman can make herself chic if she is not chic herself" -Balenciaga-It's not always what you put on, but what you put in!

    *Peace & Love*

    College Refund=Investment

As college a student I was estatic to recieve my large lump sum of a refund this very morning. However before the money even got here..i budget like a true businesswoman. First and foremost a 1oth in tithes to the Lord.second.Rent and Furniture.third.Open up a Business. I decided that I wont splurge on my refund with shopping and the newest electronics. However I will be buying the New Solange Cd. Me and my business partner Onaome Mukuro.bka.Ono will be opening up a Student Thrift store in Huntsville,Texas. The store will be showcased in the McAdams Antique Mall until we can afford a Store Front. The booth will consist of thrift items that are more appealing to the average fly.fresh.2.death college student. If you are a true thrifty like me you will know that there are slim to none thrift stores for college students. Me and Ono Live..and I do mean live for the thrift stores and buying for a bargain. I am known as sort of the thrift shop queen around my way and many of my friends ask about tips when it comes to thrift shopping. Wouldn't it be cool for someone who loves fashion and has an eye for thrift treasures to shop for you? All you have to do is come down to our shop and pick it up for..FOR CHEAP!.. yeah i thought you would love it.

    50.s type of chic.

on my quest to find furniture for my newly one-bedroom apartment..i stumbled on the 1950's-1970's vintage look. I absolutely love the simplicity yet chic feel of that era. I was geeeked when i found a lovely burnt orange sectional from the 1950.s on craigslist for $200.00..but it was sold before i could even get to it. My search didnt stop there! I am determined to have my whole entire living and dining era dedicated to the 1950.s Today I was happy to find a pearl dining table and chair set plus one accent chair at this local antique shop for $132.00. To me that is a steal considering what those things are worth now. I bought it on the spot. I was also able to to find a record player and wine rack for $10 bucks at a local thrift. it seems as though its starting to come together. If all as fails i will have to cop UrbanOutfitters.Com version of the 50.s inspired sofas.

As Seen on TV: The Bag Guru

I am always elated to see young style aficionados and fashion entrepreneurs who recieve media attention for doing what simply comes natural...that feeling is only heightened when I know the individual personally! I had the pleasure of meeting Pamela Pekerman, "The Bag Guru" while in New York last September. She is a truly genuine person and has a real knack for uncovering the hottest bags of the season.
Tune in tonight to watch Pamela Pekerman, on VH1's The Fabulous Life of The Red Carpet tonight at 9PM. She'll be dishing on which celeb wore what bag and spilling the beans on the Lana Marks scandal.

A burning desire is not enough. It is not enough to constantly tell family and friends (worst of all, yourself) that you really want to succeed.

Sooner or later you must put up or shut up.

I put up and ended up in Hollywood among 300 other aspiring writers and producers trying to squeeze through the closed gates of Hollywood!!!! Armed with a plan sure to succeed, I planted seeds when Elliott Jordan, my lead writer, pitched our sketch comedy show, Breaking News, to Lionsgate.

"Lionsgate, the most commercially successful independent film and television distribution company in North America!! The same company responsible for turning Tyler Perry’s plays into hour dramas and 30 minute sitcoms. Check out Tyler Perry’s A Family That Preys in movie theaters September 12. This movie chronicles the inner workings of two families, one upper-crust and the other working class, that become inextricably linked by scandal. "

    And I digress.

Of the 300 show ides pitched, only four were reported in the LA Times. Of the four reported only one was noted as promising. That one show, my show, Breaking News: LMAO!

“Some of the ideas, and people behind them, showed promise” !!!!!!!!! Hooody hooooooo!!!!!!!

The LA Times author of the article, Meg James, explored my writer’s background noting that he turned down store manager at Office Max to pursue his passion. “So Jordan bought a black pinstriped suit, which seemed a size too big, and came to Hollywood, not knowing quite what to expect.”

    One size too big; lol!

Not knowing quite what to expect is right. I never expected that my first time in Hollywood would be so unforgettable.

    Greetings & Salutations…

Every good story must begin somewhere between triumph and adversity…welcome to that place. As a budding fashion-designer and entrepreneur I have definitely seen my share of both spectrums, but knowing that the journey is the most important part of this trip….I've opted for a parade in full regalia!!! With that said I would like to introduce myself as Willie Dean, designer, entrepreneur, catalyst for social reform (civil rights)…most importantly DEAN OF STYLE.

In the spring of 2004, I began a women's luxury apparel brand, Noir Couture, which would receive local success in Houston while garnering media attention in New York. I also began covering the highly coveted New York fashion week as a fashion journalist that same year.

Over the years I have evolved into someone who has become extremely passionate about preserving the rights of individuals to express themselves openly and live unapologetically. With Style No. 5, you will see my journey through the trials of being a young fashion-designer/ entrepreneur as well as things that inspire me along the way…

(I wanna give a shout-out to a few other style mavens: Najwa Moses of styleaholics.com, Pamela Pekerman at bagtrends.com, iCON Billingsley at lateboots.com, Terry Thierry at terrythierry.com, and Sarah Conley at coutorture.com!)
